We knocked out Sideways, After Hours and Rockers (damn, I enjoyed that) this week and are looking for suggestions. Got any?

i haven't really been blown away by anything in a while, save Primer. Last Life in the Universe was good but pretty slow in parts, but i'd still like more people to see it. i've been on a martial-arts movie kick lately. honestly the best movie that i've rented lately was Lemony snicket, but i've also been pressed for time so i've not watched a lot of stuff that i rented.

Go for some older movies that you may not have seen. My suggestions:
•To Kill A Mockingbird (w/ Gregory Peck)
•Guess Who's Coming For Dinner? (Hepburn/Tracy)
•Harold & Maude
•La Grande Illusion (dir.: Renoir)

And a couple others you may not have thought of. (Kid's movies that are just great films.):
•The Iron Giant (dir.: Brad Bird, who did The Incredibles)
•Babe
•Babe 2: Pig In the City

That was just on last night. Thankfully, in the years since it's release that has become (although not completely) a non-issue. Or at least it was for my wife and I.

If you like foreign films, I suggest Burnt Money. And I second Tarnation.

has anyone done the "2 at a time" thing instead of 3? do you feel 2 at a time is enough?

For the love of baby Jesus, go nowhere near this Beat Takeshi joint. Watch Cassavetes' The Killing of a Chinese Bookie instead - Kitano practically nicked the storyline, then smothered it with his own brand of shittiness, inevitably ruining the film. Dude wishes he was Jimmy Cagney.

I recently saw American Astronaut which was pretty neat. The musical aspect of it was probably the best part except for where they're chanting "NO NO NO" etc. Worth seeing if you haven't.

Also, I thought The Embalmer was pretty good. The midget is just plain creepy.
