The wifey, and her parents and I are going to the game this Saturday.

Should be a fun match.

Anyone else going?

It is at Soldier Field in Chi-town. I think tickets are still avail.

I was planning on coming up to Chicago for this one, but family stuff is keeping me in town watching on tv. Although, I may even have to resort to watching it on tape the next day depending on what time it is since I have an all-day boxing, beer and bar-b-q thing to do from 2:00 on.

I hear England's not bringing many of the bigger stars, but it should still be a good game. I'm looking forward to it.

What time? Is it gonna be on ESPN 2 or ESPN? I definitely want to watch this, but I'll be at the beach. Hopefully I can catch it.

Go England!

Scotland sucks.

Could you imagine the turnout if Scotland came to play?

Someone's in a mood cos Ipswich blew it big time.

As for sucking we were good enough to beat England the last time we played. What was it? England 0 Scotland 1? Don Hutchison the scorer?

Has soccer taken off in the US yet? It's like the only country in the world where it isn't big.

Not as much as it could. A couple of problems.

MLS=Minor League Soccer

The EPL shoudl play its premier Saturday games at 7-8 pm GMT. This would allow a larger US audience to watch the games. Instead you often have to wake up at 7 am.

Don't knock the MLS... before that, US Soccer was a complete joke. I'll take being in the top 10 world rankings, thank you very much.

MLS is still garbage in comparison to the EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Etc.

I woudl rather watch those games. Also note that many top US players that conribute to that ranking do not play for MLS team.

You don't understand how excited I am for this coming weekend. The weather should be in the mid to high 80s and I'm going to the beach for 4 days with 19 of my good friends.

If you won't watch MLS games, the league keeps losing money and eventually folds. Then, there is no place for US players to develop in any numbers, the national team starts to suck again, etc...

I understand that the top European leagues are better than MLS and all that. But, MLS still does have some decent players and the games can be exciting. if you ever want the US to have a decent league, you have to be willing to step up and support the league in its growing stages, or it won't be around long enough to be anything special. Besides, it's a lot cheaper to go watch an MLS game in person that it is to catch a plane to Europe.

Sorry...just my soapbox as someone who remembers the long years between the NASL and MLS when there was no decent soccer being player in the US and doesn't want to see things go back that way again.

as soon as Cincinnati gets a team, I will watch
:P

I'm up for watching the national team anytime though. Except no cable. I don't know if I can take watching it on Telemundo.

I'm with you there as I am a big Toon fan. But, many of the top US players got their start and made their name in MLS.

There's one in Columbus, which is at least in the same state.

Wish their was a team in the ATL. Although given our track record of support for pro teams I doubt we deserve it.

Close, but no cigar. I ain't driving 100 miles to watch that. I'd rather watch arena football on tv. (No I wouldn't)
