I think i might actually have been dead for several hours, and discovering this song (which i put on my ipod at least 3 weeks ago) is the first indicator of hwat's really going on. weird.

I don't understand. Are you saying John Mayer covered a song from Kid A? I bet it sounds awful.

Im' saying he covered the song "Kid A".

It doesn't sound as bad as you would think, albeit far less "experimental". I don't know why I quoted that word, but it make sense to me.

other bizarro covers i've come across today:

"Clampdown" - The National
"After the Gold Rush", "Down By the River" and "On the Beach" - Radiohead
"After the Gold Rush" - Natalie Merchant
"After the Gold Rush" - The Flaming Lips
"Under Pressure" - The Flaming Lips
"Winterlong" - The Pixies
"Vampire Blues" - Mercury Rev
"Walking the Cow" - fIREHOSE
"Killer Cars" - The United States of Me
"Hip Shake Thing" - The 101ers

this all started by looking for the Mercury Rev cover.

Loudon Wainwright III's "Vampire Blues?" Huh.

The Pixies "Winterlong" is very fine.

Given the other songs on the list, I'm guessing that would be Neil Young's "Vampire Blues"

this isn't terrible, but it's not terribly impressive either. i appreciate the effort but it's really quite useless. of all the songs to cover, this one?
