So, what do you wanna be doing in 5 years? where do ya wanna be? and what are you doing about it, to make it all happen?

5 Years:

well, in two years at the age of 35, I will be buying a home somewhere, and leaving the city. I love it here, but I want more space, and 35 is the time to do it.

hopefully married or at least engaged, with a kid somewhere close behind.

being able to do my current job more from home, instead of treking into the city daily and sitting in front of the computer and phone, which i could just as easily do at home....dammit

continuing to put out records on my label, and actually making an impression, or seeing a profit.

two dogs and a cat.

you?

I would like to have a kid or two. Update the house a little bit. Hopefully have a job that pays more.

I'll be 36 in five years time.

I'm about to start my MA and that will take 4 years so one of two things are likely to happen - I'll have a post graduation career in academia or I'll be the highest qualified person in history to sign on at Motherwell Social Security office.

I would be 'nice' on a certain level if I met someone and went down the kids, wedding, car, mortgage route but somehow I can't see me living like that. I think I'm destined for a different path - who knows what that might be!

Let's see:

Hopefully Josh will make it at least somewhat big sometime soon, really big if possible, so I can quit work and stay at home and try to write while he's off being a rock star.

Seeing as that I'm 35 this year, have at least two kids before my ovaries shrivel up.

Move to a nicer place this year, to Lincoln Square where there's actually a neighborhood. Then in two years buy a house here in the city, or in the country area.

Write a book, have it published, have it become successful.

See my kids grow up to be fabulously healthy.

Watch my MS issues shrink back to being passive to the point of non-existent.

Turn 40.

Yeah, that's about it.

I can't imagine the next five years being as good as the past 5 years have been, but if they are I'm gonna be really happy

I don't believe in five-year plans. If I'd had a five-year plan five years ago it would have looked nothing like this. I'm just usually hoping to make it through the next week so I can focus on the one after that.

By the way, TwilightKid, your avatar is truly disturbing. The scene doesn't bother me when I watch Office Space but for some reason the way it comes across here grosses me out.

In five years, I still won't have as many posts as Spoon does now.

In five years I'll be 33.

At that time I hope to be 100% self-employed, with a few knuckleheads under my wings to take care of some of the dirty work.

I would also like to be a homeowner, though I've no idea where that will necessarily be possible 'round here.

In 5 years, I'll be 40.

Hopefully, husband and I both will have had major renovations on our careers, and we'll both find something that is more fulfilling and higher-salaried.

More traveling... I see Ireland (next year for sure), Italy (2007 for sure), Belgium, Germany, Costa Rica, Alaska, and the Caribbean in my future.

Will maintain my current dress size and still get carded.

Will have completed several cycling centuries by this time.

Exactly what I'm doing now, except no longer coaching football. I've had enough of the parents, stress, and pressure to win.

Watching my kid play college baseball while maintaining dean's list level grades.

Still paying my house note.

thirdly, maybe, learn to not have commitment issues and stop dating assholes.

i'll be 29 in five years... eeek... i don't even want to think about it.

I really don't think I can top this one, so I'll co-opt it on my own...

I'm on more of a three-week plan myself - after my credit cards are paid off, I'll make the next step. No use looking too far into the future, you know...

FT's five-year plan:

Stave off the inevitable octuple bypass as long as possible.

I'd like to pull the trigger on buying a nice duplex. Living in half of it and renting out the other half. Eventually moving out of said duplex and renting both of them and so forth. That kind of outside income would be really nice.

Thought about getting the real estate license and going that route and then slowly begin going to school to get a Broker's license and opening up my own shop in the Virginia Highlands area or Little Five Points area.

I think I could pull that off in 5 years if Seinfeld wasn't on right now......

I agree with andy in that, if I had made a plan 5 years ago, it would look nothing like this.

But some of this will happen/all of it will be worked on:
Do AG's race down here in AL, show white people that voting Democrat isn't treason, and simultaneously start the rebuilding of the party down here from the ground up.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna take the LSAT and see where I can get into school, and make some decisions from there. If it looks like it would be more lucrative to start my own shop and be a full-on consultant (Diamond Consulting Group has a nice ring, huh?) then I'll do that.

Get serious/at least try doing some of the many bizaree ideas I have for albums (Johnny Taint) movies (Senator LooGAR Takes Washington) or books (too many to list)

If along the way I find a nice girl and decide that's what I want, I will leave the option open, just as I will reserve the right to save up some scratch and move on down to Costa like our man beachy.

In short: Everything and Nothing. The world, the earth, the moon, the stars.

actually, my five year plan is to not have to have anything like a five year plan.

Edit: unless it's Dignan's.
