So, I have been given the charge of arranging lodging for a bachelor party weekend in the Big Easy for a weekend in August.

I'm not a newbie to the scene down there and I have always just stayed at hotels but we will have a large group this time. Ideally, I'd like to get a couple of places in the Quarter that have a couple bedrooms and a living room with a pull out couch. Living room areas are key for pre-game partying.

Does anyone know if these exist in the Quarter or will I have to get some suites at a hotel for this type of thing? I swear I have talked to people who have stayed at places there with this type of set up.

Also, I have checked out the following hotels that look promising and would appreciate any input on them:

Maison Dupuy
Hotel St. Marie
Hotel Provincial

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Derris,

I'm sure it exist. I can't tell you of anything specifically. I can call my aunt (her and her husband work in tourism), and she can give me a few recommendations for what your looking for, and some contact info.

I'd be forever in your debt my man. I don't want to say money is not object because it is but we have no problem cramming a bunch of folks into wherever we stay because I don't think we plan on staying in too much other than to sleep plus it would keep costs down.

New Orleans is perfect for this shit. Extremely high debauchery factor combined with a casino, golf courses, great restaurants, bars for miles, and of course "shoe modeling" clubs. All this makes for a perfect bachelor party destination.

No problem. I sent her an email with what you described you wanted. Between her and her husband they should be able to come up with something.

Most people who own apartments in the Quarter rent them, which means you'll have separate bedrooms, etc.

Another cool hotel is the International House. Its just outside of the Quarter and I usually stay there. Bose cd players in the rooms along with a couple of NOLA CDs to listen to, cool photos, etc. The top floor has a balcony all the way around. If you get some of those rooms, the balconies connect, so, not a "living room", but, you can get from room to room and stay somewhere that has a staff to clean up after you.

I haven't heard from my aunt yet, but I stayed at the Royal St. Charles before. Our room had a living room and a bed room. It was nice for 100 bucks. It had just opened then, so I don't know what the rates our now. Good location for the quarter too.

I stayed here when me and a friend went to NO last year, when I first got to Mobile> I think the rates were the same, and it was nice. Not quite on Bourbon St., but close enough and nice enough and cheap enough. I wanted to stay here during my last sacking of New Orleans, but the parties I was with had already made arrangements.
