Life on Other Planets has some excellent excellent pop gems on it. I just really heard it properly the other day after my sister gave it to me a couple of years ago. It's a really good record. Kind of like happier Spoon but Supergrass don't really push any boundaries persay. Basically it's just enjoyable. Discuss.

Yes it is. I tried to bring up this band, and specifically this album yesterday with my roommate, cause we were talking about great forgotten power pop, but then he went all back to the future on me, and next thing I know we're listening to Letters To Cleo and I feel 15 all over again.

Supergrass = awesome. "Alright" is in a Telus commercial. It makes me want to dance... and buy a cellphone.

One of my top 10 or 20 favorite bands of all time. The number of quality songs that they have made per album still surprises me.

Than you are in for a treat because this album is actually their worst, buy their debut next. They are a great, great band and if you ever get a chance to see them live do so because they bring it.

I Should Coco is their best and probably should have a decent ranking of one of the best rock albums of the 90s.

Supergrass Travels Down New 'Road'

By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

U.K. rock outfit Supergrass has wrapped work on its fifth studio album, "Road to Rouen." Due Aug. 15 internationally via Parlophone, the album will be led a week beforehand by the single "St. Petersburg."

As previously reported, "Road to Rouen" was recorded in a new studio the band built in Normandy, France. A spokesperson says the album has "a relaxed feel" and is augmented by such instruments as ukulele, zither, brass and strings.

"There's one [song] that's like a cross between Frank Zappa and something very heavy, like Hawkwind," bassist Mick Quinn told Billboard.com last fall. "It will probably end up sounding really dainty when we get it onto the record, but who knows."

Supergrass will play a handful of shows this summer, including three opening dates for Coldplay. The group is also planning a series of acoustic performances closer to the release of the new album.

"Road to Rouen" is the follow-up to 2002's "Life on Other Planets," which debuted at No. 9 on the U.K. album chart. A retrospective, "Supergrass Is 10," was released last fall.

I think you'll find 'In It For The Money' is their best album you bunch of oiks.

'Road To Rouen'? That's a really terrible album title. Someone needs to knock their coconut heads together and suggest they reconsider.
