To prevent one band or artist to stop producing music forever, who would it be?

Just one now...

yeah they really take the cake. where most terribly modern rock bands have at least one or two songs that are enjoyable or at least catchy, nickelback just fails to achieve.

A couple years ago I would have said Limp Bizkit, but they passed from the radar somewhat. I don't have to hear them much anymore.

I'll just lump every single corporate-created fake-emo-pop metal band championed by MTV into one mass of "cease this shit, I don't care about your confessional nerd pain" ball of STOP. It's not what emo started out as and it's damned bad.

Especially if I could go back in time and prevent them from ever making music, and hence stop a lot of other crappy bands from making their music as well.

Michael Bolton. Can I physically hurt him too?

Jewel... but only if I could still look at her every now and then.
Oh, and she's have to stop writing "poetry" too.

Britney Spears is a good choice, however, I think her career will nosedive in flames given a few months and her oh-so-moronic "reality" show. And I, for one, wanna be around to see it happen. :hellfire:

edit: I've changed my mind... TOBY KEITH.

The tricky part of this question is to find a group that has staying power (hence why you shouldn't vote for Lim Bizkit or Creed or whomever), that isn't obviously gar to folks like us (hence why Mike Bolton is a pretty facile choice) but to choose someone who allegedly has artistic merit, but has pretty much shit the bed. Even Dave Matthews and John Mayer uber excitement seems to have abated, and they are kind of negligible in their impact these days (this coming froma guy who almost got into a fight with Busty over my hatred for Matthews)

So, I'm going to throw this out there, apologies to Dri and whomever else, but Radiohead should be forced to pack it in. They have nothing new or interesting to offer, yet everyone waits with baited breath for their next "communique" as if I give a fuck about their ennui or dissatisfaction with the modern world.

GO AWAY! PLEASEGOTHEFUCKAWAY!
