I went to the Marquee theatre to see Dresden dolls/...trail of dead/international noise conspiracy and I was asked to remove my shoes. I was there to see a show not take a flight. The show was good, especially ...Trail of Dead w/ their two drum sets, imstrument swaping between the lead singer and the drummer/singer, and of course the mayhem at the end of the set that dismatled one of the drum sets, a few guitars, and almost took out one of the roadies :nutkick:

I'm not sure if that's worse than the time I was patted down before a Red House Painters show.

It was a nonsequitur. Well, to the extent that it wasn't it was a threat to make increasingly inane posts until midnight or completion of paper that has no bearing on my career or degree but, nonetheless, needs to be done, if only to a half-assed standard.

Post - soviet institutional reform, with emphaisis on economic institutions and rule of law. Comparative stuff across the old bloc.

Thanks, I'm thinking I'll work you in on page six.

I will not be doing any paper writing or thinking until my last grad school class starts on June 13th.

Most people take 4 years to finish grad school, right? RIGHT?

Oh that's good. I always forget about the ole 'democracy' angle. Freedom this, choice that. Bummer. Maybe not just unfortunate, maybe even tragic.

In law school, the democracy angle is copped by everyone from the lefties to the liberatarians.

I dunno, this last run with GWB I got a little tired of waiting for the people to do their thing.

In economics, democracy is either dull (median voter blah blah blah) or dangerously close to political science.

A seminar in Post-Soviet politics. I have promised to deliver something vaguely related to natural resources (like that oil dude who got thrown in jail yesterday) and corruption and undermining of sacred capitalist structures needed for Good Markets and Happy Campers. I am halfway through, but two pages of that half are a reference list.

Hey, btw, supposedly the reason for the Mekons holdup is that it actually was being remastered and the distributor was waiting for the new ones before sending it out. LRS claims to have it this week for sure. Will go tomorrow afternoon, probably.

I can't find any documentary evidence of this in my internet ramblings, but LRS guy said he was absolutely sure. Will update.
