I just got this link in an email from a friend today, re: a memo that contained Prime Minister meeting minutes.

In the spirit of Deep Throat......

If proven to be true (which no one has denied to this date) this is the smoking gun that proves Bush lied to America in the lead up to the current Iraq war. Please check out the following site, read the memo, then think back to what Bush was telling us in the months before the war. (The web site does a good job of reminding us by providing quotes and dates.)

http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/index.html

Of course this has been known for more than a week now, but the corporate media giants have buried the story. With today's revelations about who Deep Throat was, I thought this was a good time to send this. A time when we are reminded of the good that can be accomplished by the honest person with knowledge combined with fearless reporting. (The latter is severely deficient this day and age.)

If you feel the need to do something about this I have a few suggestions. Congressman John Conyers Jr. has an open letter to President Bush asking specific questions about the memo. You can read and sign the petition at www.johnconyers.campaignoffice.com

http://pdamerica.org/index.php Progressing Democrats for America has a letter generator if you wish to send letters on this subject to your local media outlets asking them to do a little investigating or even a little reporting on the subject.

You can also do a lot of good by supporting and voting for your federal Democratic congressional representatives in the 06 election.

Fair enough. However, let's not put on our party hats for Felt yet. This guy was no angel.

Totally agree. I don't think any of us can claim to be saints in this day and age.

Why do you hate America? ;)

No offense Steve, and I know its not your main point, but I do love the fact that this guy, after 30+ years in secret, and basically being seen as an altruist against corruption, is now seen as someone unworthy of what Deep Throat did, just because his motives weren't poor.

I'll keep my party hat on for him, because, right or wrong, CREEP was into some heavy shit, and this guy helped bring Nixon down.

The enemy of my enemy remains my friend.

I go back and forth on whether he is a hero or not. Part of me feels that all acts of heroism have some inherent self-serving property. But than I think that might be too much of a dark outlook on life, and that truly good deeds do exist.
