One of my favorite Royals On Radio moments was in a game where Steve faced an 0-2 count, & Denny ( "The Voice Of The Royals" ) Matthews exclaimed "No balls on Steve Balboni".

This was followed by what seemed like an eternity of dead air.

Fucking solid. Balboni went to my college and still holds the D2 record for dingers in a season - something outrageous like 48. You try to forget, but you never can. I'm convinced his identical twin brother is the antangonist first baseman in Major League 2: Electric Boogaloo.

As a Yankee fan, I've got to admit I hate seeing him in the batter's box with the game on the line as much as I used to hate seeing Edgar Martinez.

np: Bill Fay

Do you hate it more than two consecutive losses to my KC Rotary Club?

Yes, I hate it more than 2 losses to KC cause that shouldn't happen again.

I read somewhere that the last time RJ lost to KC before last night, Cheers was still on NBC.

np: Yankees v KC pre-game

That's right. Nearly 12 years to the day apparently. Here's to keepin' the Yankees' skid alive and completing the, dare I say, SWEEP. We last did it against the Chattanooga LookOuts and we're hungry for another. Viva Angel Berroa.

I thought it stood for Knights Of Columbus and was pulling for those scrappy little Catholic businessmen to make good.
