I realize its been discussed a while ago..but I saw it again this weekend for about the 4th time...and I saw it twice in the theatre when it came out...and this movie just blows me away the more I watch it.

Easily one of the best movies I've seen in years.

Somehow, through all the movies I see, and all my "indie cred"

I have yet to see it.

I am gonna go kill myself now.

Just saw it this weekend for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish my wife would have watched it with me, but alas she decided to watch supersize me instead.

Same here.

Actually Josh and both felt a tad bit bored during parts. I think some of the scenes kind of dragged on a bit.

Great story though and so was the acting. It just moved slow.

I enjoyed it, but I think you have to be in the right state of mind to see it. Alas, I wasn't quite in that mood - I'm waiting for the next rainy day to watch it again...

A standard "You don't know what you got til its gone yarn, gussied up with a neato uber-indie script by Charlie Kaufman, and Kirsten Dunst in her panties. Good soundtrack, pretty good movie, but it ain't all its cracked up to be.

Visually, its the most stunningly edited film I have seen in years. I feel like Gondry is a visual genius. And Kirsten Dunst in her panties gave me a 3/4 obner.

i agree with all of the pro-kirsten dunst, pro-this movie is visually fucking nuts sentiment and for all the cynical bastard there is in me i find it impossible to simply look at this story from the Loog standpoint of

I don't care how gussied up or indie or whatever they tried to make it, it just struck a chord with me. Maybe I haven't seen any better "standard "You don't know what you got til its gone" yarn[s]" but if they exist I wouldn't mind checking them out.

The performances in this are great, the initial mindfuck that some people face when first seeing it and the progressive entrenchment in the recurring references that just keep swimming all over you in every repeated watch make it one of the most worthwhile films I've seen in the past year.

Course "gussied up" is also synonymous with "Chuck's one hell of a screenwriter." Which is a good thing.

I thought it was amazing and am also a big fan of Gondry's genius. My gf, who is not overly emotional, was crying uncontrollably at the end of the movie which I didn't entirely get but then again I generally view movies with a formalist's eye.

Great soundtrack too as I recall.

Not in my vocabulary Dan Frostingspoonkowski.

I think that you tear away all the bs, and this is a story about a guy and a girl who broke up and wish they could forget each other, but then realize that they are better off with each other than without. It is also a commentary on whether people are meant to be together despite their differences, or if they are bad for each other.

I've not seen Adaptation, but Being John Malkovich struck me as just being strange for strange's sake. Sure the guy comes with a different POV, and you have to applaud him for that, but I'm not ready to laud this or anyof his other movies as great.

i'm usually not a fan of Kaufman but i thought that this movie was pretty good. and i also usually want to kick jim carrey's teeth in, so that was a pleasant change.

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoyed this movie more than most I've seen this year, I'm just not ready to shit my pants over it. I think this is easily Carrey's best dramatic performance (funny what zero pressure does to you) the visuals are interesting and the soundtrack is suhweet....but when you boil the plot down to its essence, I'll stand by my original assessment. (and another plug for Kirsten in her panties.
