I don't want to ruin everyone's fun, but I'm a little concerned about people posting full albums here. The RIAA's bloodthirsty enough for people doing this secretly, and I could easily be liable if someone found out it was happening here.

The single MP3 posting is fine, and the out-of-print albums thing should be ok (though I can foresee the possibility of a cease-and-desist letter), but I'd appreciate it that full albums be shared through the normal, shady channels. Labels just have too strong an interest in protecting leaked and in-print albums, and this board is not as private as we may like to think.

I agree. YSI requests are all over message boards worldwide. I'm sure the RIAA knows this by now.

i think if we keep it to an exchange via PMs - so Dalen says "hey i have this, whoever wants it, PM me," and it's up to Dalen/whoever to screen the users - then it'll be cool.

but just having ysi addys in threads...not so much.

then again, there is no privacy law protecting the exchange of info over PM, so...if you're really paranoid...:)

I don't want to get anyone into trouble, especially me ... let me know if you want me to halt production.

because nobody's going to sign up for a board if they can't even check out the content before registering. besides, it's not like i can background-screen everyone who tries to register.

but we should, as a rule, background-screen anyone who is engaging in some amount of file-sharing. i thought the clever cactus got out of hand *way* too quickly...

Might as well ask - what the hell does this have to do with Cheerios? What did they ever do to you? Look at 'em...

so young, tender, and full of fiber - and now you want to piss it all away...

They really shoot!

I just prefer "not to piss in your cheerios" to "not to rain on your parade".

I love a parade, when I hear a band
I just want to stand and cheer as they come.
That rat-a tat-tat, the blare of a horn.
That rat-a tat-tat, a bright uniform;
The sight of a drill will give me a thrill,
I thrill at the skill of everything military.
I love a parade, a handful of vets,
A line of cadets or any brigade,
For I love a parade

trumpet has obviously been drinking
cause he's fucking up even the simplest lines
i'd say it's a sight that's quite worth seeing
except that everyone's interest is stronger than mine

won't you follow me down to the rose parade?

I think it's a good time, in light of Cap'n's misfortune, to reiterate this. Our bubble is burst, and I am not willing to take the fall for the stuff people are posting. Please no more public YSI links.

OK. The other OOP stuff I was thinking about YSI-ing is very much non-RIAA, but I may hold off anyway. I should just figure out the Colinswood thing already.

Also, I don't think I ever saw this thread back in Feb, or else I just didn't pay attention because I didn't use YSI at the time.
