No Richard Pryor?

I've never heard a complete Pryor album [gasp!], but I used to have a shitload of clips from all over and they were pretty fucking good.

I've said it once and Come Again by Derek & Clive is the funniest fucking commentary I've ever heard. Please seek this out.

I love the pryor. don't get me wrong, he and lenny bruce are the two holdouts i had, but if anything, these albums had some sort of ungodly force on my upbringing, so they're my faves.

i've never heard of this Derek and Clive you speak of.

Late '70s, Dudley Moore (Derek), Peter Cooke (Clive). 100% crass-goodness. Fuck, there was an explosion on RoadHouse. I've got to revert back to that thread!

Tenacious D wasn't the best, but was funny...not comedy, but funny music.

I can't guarantee the quality of the stream (it's breaking up a bit on me at the moment), but here:

Both Come Again and Ad Nauseum are great. RIYL: Comics who work blue; drunken British improv; the word "bollocks."

this is where it's at for me. another monty python record is particularly full of gems, with the spanish inquisition crashing in unexpectedly at perfectly often intervals.

Based upon what I've heard:
Bill Cosby - Himself

What? No love for Cheech & Chong?

I always thought Steve Martin's Comedy is not Pretty was funny too, and iof course his Wild & Crazy Guy record was good.

Haven't really listened to a comedy album in a really long time though, maybe obvious from my picks.

Farrah Faucett is such a bitch. She has never called me once.

after the hours i spent holding up her poster....with one hand...

Although David Cross' Shut Up You Fucking Baby trumps it, and I've never found Dice to be very funny, I love this album. It barely qualifies as stand-up comedy, it's like one rambling monologue. He continuously points out over the course of 2 cds, that "it's not about laughter, it's about comedy" after his stout refusal to do any "bits". Still it makes me laugh and I consider this to be a landmark of bad taste.

I have those cassettes too. I should dig them out and give them a listen again. I think the one he put out after these was when I gave up on him as it was particularly unfunny.

edit: I actually went to a show of his when I was in Vegas. I think he picked on everyone at my table except me.
