Alright, all you Chicago and Lollapalooza-attending Obernites, I've just confirmed my travel plans. I hope to meet as many of you that I can during my weekend visit -- I have a personal quest to surpass FT's previous Tour-Across-America Obner/CMJ meet n greets. ;)

I arrive on Friday, July 22nd around 4pm, which means that I'm readily available for drinking, pre-Lollapalooza mongering and whatnot in the evening. I leave Monday at 6pm, so for those who I don't meet up with over the weekend, maybe we can have lunch that day.

I'm staying at the Best Western directly across the street from Grant Park (and around the corner from Charli and hubby), so there's NO excuse not to drop by and at least say "hi"!

If anyone would like to help me plan a meeting place for Friday night that's not far from my hotel, please do. I'm open to suggestions.

Yay! I can't wait -- this is gonna be fun!

I'm buying a ticket for $90 tomorrow for Bloor from some chick that would rather see Dave Matthews than go to this.

Anyway, The only thing I have to do is buy myself a ticket and I'm on my way. Just a 2 1/2 hour drive after that.

I know that Bloor and I will be down for some Pre-show mongering indeed. This is gonna be a really fun weekend. Looking forward to it BIG TIME!

If I can get Derris to come up for this then the Senator says that he would have to skip his 10 year high school reunion to attend. Don't think I'm not gonna start that campaign right the fuck now.

Mike, here's the link for the hotel I'm staying in -- http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern ... Code=14120

Unfortunately, per the website, there are no rooms available. You might wanna try checking out the Lollapalooza website for hotel referrals.

If I'm not touring, anyone who needs a couch, just pm me.

I can't swing the bread to go to Lolla.

I would be up for some mongering, and/or food.

Tania, we should go to Bluefin...

I am playing a solo/acoustic show at a coffeehouse in Wrigleyville called Uncommon Ground, if you're still gonna be in town that Sunday.
It's an early (7pm) show and I'm thinking I'll bring the wife and kids along, so you can meet the whole gang.

Other than that, I'm not so sure that I'll be able to be a part of the festivities, but (as usual) keep me informed of all plans, just in case something miraculous happens.

Wasn't sure if Lolla was on Sunday night, as well.
Damn.
Well... enjoy the show. Should be fun.

I wish someone would hurry up and invent the Star Trek style teleporter.

I might even be nice and let you stay at my place if you did. But you'd have to sleep on the couch.

Chicago's best sushi, repeatedly picked in reader's polls.

http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/sear ... 6512.venue

right around the corner from the double door and subterranean. Doesn't look like Double Door has a show booked on the 22nd yet, but Subterranean has Junior Brown, who is a helluva show...

we'll see who else is playing when it gets closer to the date.

anybody interested in going halves on a hotel room? PM me if you are. If anybody in Chicago has an extra bed or couch, I would pay for that as well.
