You've all been craving a bit of harmonium, so here ya are (this is especially for you, Darrin):

Lucky Luke -- The River's Edge

http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1RAX ... ZUVJ3BAVYM

"Lucky Luke is the brainchild of folk overlord Simon Shaw, formerly of Glasgow legends V-Twin, and Morag Wilson, Falkirk's hottest librarian. As a two piece they contributed to many compilations with their dreamy, Nico inspired songs, until recruiting other members at the beginning of 2003. Now they've grown into a mysterious twelve legged beast with more wood, string and drone than should be legally allowed. Their debut, Simon of The Desert, was released on Edinburgh label Wee Black Skelf last year, and a beautiful album, Patrick The Survivor, will be out on Invada Records in May 2005. Their latest single, Fear Eats The Soul, came out on Valentine's Day. They have also recorded a 7" featuring two Shirley Collins covers for the Green Man label which should appear sometime in September. Franz Ferdinand went to see them once and told them 'you should support Status Quo'. (They were joking). "

I'll be honest -- when I saw them open for Teenage Fanclub, I wasn't wildly blown away. But, I'll attribute that more to my mood and anticipation of seeing the Fannies vs anything against Lucky Luke. They were quite good and I loved the harmonium. They've a very folksy sound to them -- kind of like listening to Irish folk music. I'd love to see them in a smaller setting to truly get a feel for them.

Let me know what you think.

typical of Obner though. posting music and discussing it isn't very popular around here i've found.

I'll take you up on this offer, T. I will have a full report on your desk in the morning.
