Best PPV in years.

so happy that people are still into this shit.

So, what happened? I dont follow the ECW but I always love to hear a couple of storylines.

The shoot comments from heyman were choice. The matches were great but I could still do without the WWE guys. Big ups to Bischoff for giving the fans the moment they wanted.

ya i've been wondering about bischoff and tonight just takes the cake. is he that desperate to be a "tv star" that he's willing to be humiliated to such an extent again and again? as president of wcw the guy was so braggadocious and full of himself that i find it hard to believe that he just doesnt take himself too seriously and i wonder if he really hates every moment like this he's been forced to endure since he started in wwe. i get the feeling if he had someone to back him financially he would start a wrestling company right away with the sole intention of putting vince out of business.

ECW was the only shit I ever went to live....It was crazy, but super fun....Don't know if anyone has ever been to the ECW arena, but it was just a broken down bingo hall under I-95 with a ring in the middle...Classic...Dirty...Wra'slin

I think he does a great job in the role they have given him. He understands the business as well as anyone and for the payoff for the one time event, he would have to be the guy doing the job and giving the fans their moment.

His WCW actions aside, he understands how to be the smarmy heel and actually knows how to take bumps better than some of the wrestlers. If he really didn't want to do it and endure the shoot comments, I'm sure they would have let him off the hook and had Angle be the main fall guy.

The only thing I don't get is having Austin be the guy to call out the WWE guys. I don't associate him with ECW even though he spent time there and his promos on Bischoff were some of the best work ever. I think for that moment to be ECW through and through it should have been Taz calling them out.

I know he doesn't like to wrestle on a regular basis anymore, but a Taz-Angle feud for Summerslam would be pretty cool.

i saw ecw on july 4th at the jersey shore a few years ago (at an outdoor bar, of all places) and it was incredible. what better way to celebrate our nation's independence than with a flaming tables (and thumbtacks) match between spike dudley and balls mahoney vs. the dudley boyz?

answer: there is none.

Woo, someone else reads the Torch.

I fully agree about the Austin comment. The fact that WWE (Vince) was trying so hard to make Benoit and Austin seem like big ECW representatives bugged me. When I think of Benoit and Guerrero, I think of WCW. When I think Austin, I don't think ECW.

Having Austin be the big guy at the end seemed kind of lame. Like his very presence in the room is supposed to make everyone stand up and scream their guts out in joy.
