That song where the singer goes at the end, "Hey fuck you man!" and then all the kids laugh is awesome.

5 months later, I've found that it's growing on me as well.

I loved everything Trail of Dead had put out before this album but it just got such a negative press I didn't pick it up.

One for the Christmas gift vouchers, I think.

it's definitely different than source tags... and the older albums.

i think maybe i needed the time off from my expectations->initial disappointment to really see how good this album is on its own merits.

I don't think I've listened to it in 5 months so maybe I'll try find it.

there's some songs on it that are pretty good, but some huge misses too.

"Grower" of the year.

I think the sequencing throws it off; the differences and stop/start dynamics in the first three tracks make it hard to get a foothold.

Been my second favourite release (behind Low) all year. Once you get past the differences, there's a lot of great stuff.

I actually just downloaded this off limewire and as loving it for the first time. A bit wanky/cheesy on the Beatles-esque ballads but still rockin'.

TOD somehow finds that balance between all out ROCK and human mistake to make their music REAL. Better yet, I think they do it unintentionally... which just makes it more real and pure to me. Like OLD Pavement or Some Soviet Station or any other young band whose motives, while not completely innocent, were misguided in the right ways to make the music honest. Like the AWWWWW factor of babies, you know, even when you know they're TRYING to be cute to get fed.

Am I making any sense? It's late.
