I'm listening to the new album now. It's good, but so far I can't say how it stacks up compared to the previous two. Broken Breads is very danceable though.

If anyone wants a copy PM me for a YSI link.

I'm digging this so far. There are some open freak outs. Sorry, not much of a review; more later as I suppose this one will be heavily debated. My prediction: hipster backlash and certain hatred.

Thanks smafty and sorry Spade---I missed your thread last week.....

I've heard three songs so far that I really enjoyed. I'm gonna see them on friday and I'm sure they'll be playing several other new ones.

Listening now for the first time, and the extended outro to "The Bleeding Heart Show" is glorious (the "Hey-la" part). Also, thanks again Smafty.

yea, more thanks to Smafty for this

so far, so good...one thing that's jumping out at me is that Bejar's songs don't seem to irk me as much on this album...I've always been one to hit the skip button when one of his songs came up in the rotation

Patiently waiting for it's release.

I always love the Bejar songs so now i'm scared by jagged's comments

I never really liked the pornographers that much, but I really enjoyed AC Newman's release last year. Does this sound more like his album or their other two albums?

not to simplify things but The New Pornographers (to me at least) basically sound like A.C. Newman + more keyboards + Neko Case (and more vocal harmonies)

Oh, and "Bleeding Heart Show" is firmly entrenched in my daily rotation. Wicked pisser of a tune I tell ya....

She was totally cute...I wanted Neko though.

This album is proof that the New Pornographers are one of the most consistently great bands around

i like this better than the last. sound like the songs actually have more than a teaspoon of staying power, unlike electric version.

God I hope so. I thought Electric Version was okay but a huge let down after Mass Romantic. Mass Romantic is in my top ten of this decade.

AC Newman's solo album was much better than Electric Version IMO.

I'm not a big fan of Bejar's contributions.

Bloor, you need to hook a brotha up with this one.

See, I don't like Neko's voice or anything by Bejar at all, that's the problem.
