This doesn't mean that we're only looking for acoustic songs. We cover a wide variety of stuff, but it's mostly stuff that people will recognize, but don't tend to hear very often. Here's some examples of things that we did last week.

Billy Joel - Don't Ask Me Why
Coldplay - Speed Of Sound
Michael Penn - No Myth
Ryan Adams - Let It Ride
Blondie - The Tide Is High
The Jayhawks - I'd Run away
Jerry Reed - Eastbound And Down
John Sebastion - Welcome Back (Theme To Welcome Back Kotter)
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Lionel Richie - Hello
Tom Petty - Yer So Bad
The Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again
Supertramp - Give A Little Bit
Ween - What Deaner Was Talking About
Prince - Raspberry Beret
The Police - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da
America - Sister Golden Hair
Ambulance LTD - Anecdote

I could go on forever...I think we're up to a 325 song playlist now. Yet I feel like we've been playing the same shit forever. Anyway, here are some ideas that I had just point you in the right direction, which is no direction at all.

Motorhead - Ace Of Spades
Badfinger - Come And Get It
Voilent Femmes - Add It Up
Son Volt - Windfall
Beatles - Hello, Goodbye
CCR - Lookin' Out My Back Door
Elvis - Suspicious Minds
Elton John - Daniel

You get the point...it's stuff people kinda know but may not have heard in a while. One hit wonders, cheesy 70's shit, crazy metal songs, etc. Things that can translate pretty easy to acoustic.

Bring it! Thanks for the help.

Hey, I meant to tell you... my iTunes thinks that Ryan Adams song is called "Thinking About You" instead of Let It Ride. I donno.

Other songs we play, that come to mind:

Talking Heads - And She Was, Nothing But Flowers (used to anyway)
Duran Duran - Rio, Hungry Like The Wolf
Ween - Piss Up A Rope
Human League - Dont You Want Me Baby?
Jayhawks - tons of stuff... Angelyne, Tailspin, Save It For A Rainy Day, All The Right Reasons

He's right, we need fresh blood. We're also getting into 2 gigs a week, every other week now. What would make you take notice, if done well in a bar?

go the Dando route with the Misfits' "Skulls"

and if you can scrape together an accoustic cover of "War Ensemble" then you're pretty much set for life.

You sir are obviously smelling what I'm cooking. This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Good call on the Juice Newton dude. Cap'N and I have been talking about that for a while now.

I'm alerting the authorities. You belong in a plastic prison...and Cap'n will probably be exiled, or just shipped off to Gitmo.

You people make me sick.

Que Sera Sera (Sly version) would be cool.
Steppin' Out (Joe Jackson)
Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper)
Runaway (Del Shannon - but only if you can play the organ solo, somehow. I can play it on guitar and transcribe it for ya if you want.)

And some 80's synthpop is always cool to hear translated to acoustic. Ideas:
In Cars (Gary Neuman)
Don't You Want Me (Human League)
Life In a Northern Town (who was this? not really "synth" I know, but still...)

Yeah, I was really more curious to see what these fools thought before I weighed in. Believe me I know what our sick minds can come up with when we put our thinking caps on.

I was on board when you invented this genre bro, don't worry, i'll help you see it through....
