Just ate lunch at work and I brought some good bread with me in a Ziploc bag. After I ate the bread I saved the empty bag because I plan on taking it home, washing it, and reusing it. Is that wierd?

Do you you guys do little things to save money/time that could be considered out of the ordinary to other people?

I do the same thing with condoms!

i keep the containers that soup comes in from Chinese restaurants.

I use plastic grocery bags for lunch bags.
I save plastic deli containers, wash and reuse them.
I also wash and reuse plastic silverware on occasion.

i've been hanging out with my ex girlfriend.

I keep the big tubs that pretzels come in and use them as percussion.

We don't have a percussionist, yet, so we just leave them out in the rain.

i also use plastic grocery bags for cat litter bags.
i also wash & reuse straws.

I save my Ziplocs, too. It just doesn't make much sense to me to toss it out simply because it had pretzels in it today . . . and especially since I'll likely be having pretzels tomorrow, too. I do this until the sharp salt of the pretzels wears holes in the bag, or until the end of the week where I celebrate Friday afternoon with the ceremonious Tossing-Away Of The Ziploc.

I reuse my 7-11/Circle K/Qwiktrip cups. It saves about 25 cents on the fountian drinks if it's a refill

Or you could save your shit in the Ziploc bags until Friday, then dispose of all your waste in one big flush to save on the water bill.

Or you can separate each ply of paper, wipe your ass then sandwich it back together with the mud spread on the inside, so when it dries it's more durable. The Hopi perfected this technique.

i do this with printing paper -- not wipe my ass with it, but use both sides.

We reuse Ziplocks whenever possible.

We also use the plastic grocery sacks as trash bags. The ones we don't use get recycled back at the store.

And I use those big pretzel tubs to hold cereal, cookies, & popcorn. Those things work great.

There's all kindsa shit you can re-use.

I only ever one sheet of TP.
I tear a hole in the center (save the little piece) and put my finger through.
Use my finger to remove residual excretions.
Wipe my finger on the TP as I slide it back through the hole.
Use the saved liitle piece to clean under my finger nail.

Or fight off the white man's disease.

I do the above as well.

For me it is 100% for the environment.
I invested in a nice portable coffee mug awhile back and used to bring it to cafes so I wouldn't have to use millions of styrofoam cups. Man, sometimes I just picture how with all the coffee I drink I could probably fill up an entire room with my annual consumption of styrofoam. It's ridiculous.

I also pretty much recycle anything and everything that is possible to recycle. Here in Toronto we actually now have an "organics" box too--which is pretty cool.

It's all a little religious for me.... being a Pantheist of sorts.
