So what's up with their new album, you diggin' it? They kind of remind me of The Walkmen in the sense that everyone seemed to love them, critics and fans alike, their live show was garnering raves reviews, and then.....well......not much.

So anyway, what does everyone think of Open Season?

British Sea Power is among a select few bands that I'd like to throw down a deep well and never hear from again.

So, ah no, I won't be diggin' it.

Their music seems too nondescript and harmless to provoke such a negative reaction...or is that why you don't like them in the first place?

I liked their first album quite a bit, but haven't given a listen to their new one yet.

They put on a pretty good show, though.

I hadn't heard much at all before seeing them live, and while they were perhaps energetic enough, the music bored me too much to care. As you said - nondescript and dull. I can only assume they've come this far based on their kind of neat name.

i really liked their first album. except the last 3 songs or so kind of lose my interest every time i listen to it. the new album is great in a mostly different way, even though, again, i have next to no interest in listening to the last song all the way through when i hear it. they need to find better ways to close their albums.

i saw them live last month, and while the music was great, the show just didn't keep my interest all the way through.

for a band i like so much, they sure don't do much to keep it that way.

I like the new album -- I thought it was a more 'mature' sound compared to their debut.

I pretty much don't like anything with 'British' in the title.

The new album isn't very good. It's dull and it hasn't really grabbed me. Their first album had me at hello, it was that good.
