What a wack job. Apparently he is the only person on the planet who is qualified to give an opinion on psychiatry.

I heard an excerpt on the radio on my way to work, and it sounded pretty amusing.

I like how he claims to have not only read but totally comprehended scientific studies on Ritalin.

The thing that really gets me is that I'm very much against doping up kids just to make it easier on the adults, but Tom Cruise ain't no spokesperson.

I think eveyone has had a sense for some time that Cruise was a bit wacky, but he sorta kept up appearances in public. Why now is he letting it all hang out?

He basically told Matt Lauer that he was not qualified to ask him questions on his beliefs regarding psychiatry and that Matt's knowledge of Ritalin was at best embarrassing and at worse dangerous.

Why exactly were they talking about psychiatry and Ritalin?

Probably because someone tried to prescribe it to Tom for his antics lately.

Because Tom blasted Brooke Shields for using medication to treat depression after her baby, and Tom thinks that it's holding back her career and development as a person.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

The guy is certifiable.

Yup, definitely last resort (if at all) for kids. Adults, hey, whatever gets you through the day.

He was mildly entertaining on Letterman last night, but that's probably just because Dave can carry anyone through a decent interview.

SHIT! I always watch that show as the wife is leaving for work, and I slept in today (show last night). Sure, I catch all the coverage of missing kids, but when something good like Dr Cruise, MD, comes on, I miss it. That sucks.

Hmm, last time I checked, I didn't think Brooke Shields' career was in the crapper. Wasn't she doing a big Broadway production recently? That's not exactly holding back on your career. Post-partum depression is a very real thing-- I have a friend going through it right now. Until Tom develops ovaries and a uterus, he has no business talking about how women should deal their post-partum problems.

Ditto on the ritalin being a last resort for kids. I do know some adults that take it though, and it works wonders for them.

Frankly Cruise and his psychobabble can kiss my lily white ass as far as I'm concerned.

Fuck him.

Signed,

A parent of a child on medication, albeit very carefully monitored.

Tom said post partum depression is just masking an issue that Brooke has, and Scientology can give her the "tools" to conquer it. According to Tom. He also said he has read the research papers on it, and knows what he is talking about.

I heard he fired his publicist, and they were the one keeping him from making a fool of himself. Now there is nobody to stop him.

Matt Lauer should have just said, "Tom, you don't know shit about fuck."

the research papers done by other Scientologists - kind of like the research papers on climate change done by the white house staffers

I'm psyched, personally. I'm kinda curious as to where his crazy little road leads to, and I have the feeling there's no stopping him now. Next few years should be highly entertaining.
