we can't really pull out of Iraq now, though.

oh god no. i'm just wondering what the hell he can say that's gonna alleve any of his plummeting approval ratings. "stay the course" repeated ofver and over for an hour doesn't have a great ring to it.

Powell suggested that as a viable exit strategy before the invasion, but was shouted down.

Actually, an exit strategy is more like wiping your dick off on the curtains and getting dressed in the driveway.

Well, what is getting people upset is waking up every morning to find that more Americans have been killed.

Pretending I'm GB for a moment I think I'd...

Remind people that while every single American death is regretful, estimates before the war were suggesting this couldn't be done without 10,000 dead. Credit this unmitigated(he may trip over this word) success to the courage and hard work of our young men and women in uniform.

Admit to some of the mistakes that have been made but finish with a whole bunch of "happy" stories about things that have occured in Iraq since Saddam was kicked out.

Bring up some history by reminding people that dealing with insurgents after a war has been declared won, is practically compulsory, ie, Germany after WWII for like 2 years. Finish by declaring that these insurgents will not be successful in their attempts to derail democracy in Iraq.

Say God Bless America a few times.

Cheers, applause, goodnight.

Or something like that.

Our former singer, from college, was known as "the Pullout King." Dude's walls were a MESS.

Then, in the morning, when Bloor, Busty, et al, were sitting in the living room having coffee, the victim would inevtiably get up and cross the hall (and thus come into view of the living room) to go to the can before making her escape... the "Walk Of Shame."

yeah, but the speech is gonna go more like "the liberal media is to blame, because all they show are the negative aspects of war"

because we're seeng blown up kids and civilians ALL THE TIME on the news. Our news os so watered down it would be laughable if it wasn't so scary.

You mean ZE DOKTOR?

I have it on good authority that tonite's speech will actually be a tape of Richard Nixon repeating the word "SACRIFICE" over and over for an hour.

I also have it on good authority that, instead of offering anything approaching a plan of action, Nancy "BOTOX" Pelosi will just remind any and everyone that this "immoral war" was made worse by the Republicans not having a plan.

Score:
Bush/Repubs: 0
Pelosi/Dean/Dems: -28
The American People: incalculable

The Good Doktor indeed. Some of them even bought him pizza before splitting... amazing.

Condy was on the Today show this am, and had little if anything to say. She was tossed a few lightweight zingers about sliding poll figures, and she spat out what she's supposed to say, about war always being unpopular after a year or two, etc. Really, what can he say?

In my case, it was a sweet water spit-take.

I won't be watching this tonite - I'll be busy watching my Royals getting their heads kicked in by the Twins. It's just gonna be another fake-ass, made-for-TV, "Up With People" handjob, anyhoo.

What's the over/under on the number of times he references 9/11?

There will be alot of this:

This job is hard. It's hard work, working hard and doing all this hard work.

Not much of this:

We miscalculated. Sorry!

I'll be in attendance, Diggity. Keep your eyes peeled for the only Royals cap-toting fan heckling the Twinkies dugout. There's money saying I'll be tossed by the sixth. Howell better show his stuff tonight.

Hey, mine as well! I found this linked at www.dailykos.com, it's an article written by a guy named James Chaney. Starts off with, "As of today, after 25 years, I am no longer a Republican." www.registerguard.com/news/2005/06/26/e ... .0626.html

I think the tide is beginning to turn.
