I got caught sleeping in the server room at work today. It was bound to happen sooner or later, and thankfully it was only a custodian guy and not my boss. I have keys to many secure rooms around the building, and usually take a nap in the afternoon. I'm seldom missed, and if anyone needs anything, they just page.

Anyway, I just thought it was funny. It sure was awkward making half-asleep explainations as to why I was stretched out in the dark. I was able to mumble something about 'resting a bad back' but I'm sure he saw right through that one.

Awesome.

I think my affinity for the lunch monger nap in the car is well documented, but dude, you just went full on Costanza.

Well played sir.

About a month ago I caught a woman using a breast pump in the storage closet.

You don't even want to know the stuff I have done, and/or caught people doing in campaign offices.

Some lowlights:
porn
making out --->
sex
pot
coke
more sex
more porn
gay porn
more coke
crushing up ritalin
picking pizza out of a garbage can and eating it.
I am sure there is more.

Once I got caught sleeping at work. When I realised I'd been woken up by a work colleague I instantaneously starting 'typing' gobbledegook on my keyboard...like I'd been working all along.

They just looked at me thinking "Darrin I know you were sleeping because I had to physically shake you to wake you up!". Probably the worst attempt at 'I'm doing work, honest' of all time.

I used to work as a security guard and would take naps just about anywhere depending on the building I was working in. Couches, exercise mats in a gym, underneath a table, chairs, etc.

napping should be encouraged within reason.
you work better after a nap.

i worked at as an art director at a cool place, and we were aloud to naps. I did great work on time, no one cared.

then they took away napping because i dont' know why. i got cranky, everyone got cranky. work started to suck. everyone quit.

napping is good.

Maybe you're mildly diabetic.
-----
The funny thing is, ever since I changed my diet (disproportionately more protein for breakfast and lunch), I don't feel like I need a nap nearly as often as I used to. Pretty much only when I didn't get enough sleep the prior night.
------
Overheard:
"I got caught wanking at work once. I'd like to ask whether or not that's the reason I lost my job, BUT I CAN'T, SINCE I DON'T WORK THERE ANY MORE.

The only revenge I have is that that image is burnt into the person's eyes. But that's pretty good revenge." Last part paraphrased. I don't remember how exactly they phrased it.
------
I was pulling an all-nighter once, and I knew my boss had a couch in his office (expressly for this purpose -- we were a software "sweat shop"), so I went in there to take a nap. I forgot I had a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt on, so when I woke up about one cycle later (45 minutes), I thought I had something on my chest and freaked out.

I didn't need any more sleep after that.

I keep fearing that I'm diabetic or have some other condition but I went for a physical a few months ago and my doctor said there was nothing wrong.

As an electrician, I was once ordered into a cool, dark attic at like 8:30am when I was still tired as hell. I had to crawl over joists until I reached a cutout, and then (here's the kicker) wait for further instruction. I slept for, I donno, a good 30 minutes before the other guy came to the cutout and yelled for me, which scared the bejeezus out of me and almost made me fall off the joists (and through the ceiling) and I think I played it off with something like "yeah, I was just tracing that circuit out..." What circuit, you doofus?!

I thought it was an eclair, with nary a bite consumed, and still resting on the bakery-wrap.
