Anybody trying to make a hip-hop record, and with time enough to wait for 3,000 sample clearances? Anybody?

Really? I have that "Martian Hop" 45. I'd like to take a look at the collection before I bought it, but I'd definitely like to have a collection like that.

You should check out this record by Li'l Markie with his breakthrough single "Diary Of An Unborn Child (mp3 link, y'all).

If you're looking to hear a good Lil Markie track, goto this link (http://www.mp3it.com/artist.php?artist_id=15) and you can listen to 'Story of an Alcoholic Father.' It's WAY more twisted than the Unborn Child song.

Sure, the line 'Why did you kill me, mommy?' is creepy and all, especially with the Lil Markie voice, but the entire story of 'Alcoholic Father' is even more twisted. The short version is boy has alcoholic father, boy finds religion at a tent revival, dad hits mom, dad hates religion, boy gets sick, boy is happy to see Jesus, dad stays drunk, boy dies, dad finds religion, boy is happy and sings about it. It's 14 minutes of sheet brilliance, in that car-crash kind of way.

I've never owned a record player.

If he ripped them to mp3's, I might be interested.
