Any of you So Cal types going to this. I'm considering making a road trip out to SD for this. Any suggestions for cheap lodging?

I was considering going, partying in SD is always fun... but I have other obligations on the 30th.

If you're going to make a roadtrip for this, book your hotels NOW. Check in the downtown SD area... that way you can just cab it from the hotel to the area where the festival is at.

Hotel Circle (Mission Valley) is closer to the event than downtown, for those interested.

I may go to this. It seems like downtown is the better venue to hold this, but I don't see the Qualcomm move to be that big of a downside. Still a pretty decent lineup.

The lineup looks pretty solid, but I've heard it's always a major BroFest...Plus, bigger stages/crowds this year = probably a no-no...

Gotcha.

As it is, if you're going to San Diego, why not measure out a coupla more feet and hit Tijuana. Maybe catch a Bostich live set, or some other Nortec Collectivist. Slither around to looped Mexican polka tubas and maracas while hopped up on tequila and ecstacy.

Bomb?

Yes, bomb.

No need to go to Tijuana for that. This is Southern California, it pretty much has all of the above. ;)

I live about half a mile from Qualcomm, and the line-up this time is the best I've ever seen it. I've never gone before because it usually sucks and I hate crowds. This time it looks a little more enticing. Actually, I will probably be able to hear it from my balcony so to hell with it. Street Scene is not actually in Qualcomm Stadium, just the parking lot.

There are also a few hotels directly to the west and directly to the north, up 15 (at Aero Dr). That would be much closer than downtown and closer than Hotel Circle, even. Probably cheaper than downtown as well.
