i swear. my i-pod crapped out on me again.

same shit that happened to me when i first got it- as soon as i ejected the pod from my i-tunes/comp, when i went back to play music, there were NO artist/album names.... but when i plug it into i-tunes, everything shows up so obviously all the gigs are there. i just can't play it in my car or by itself since nothing shows up when i browse.

um, does anyone know why this happens or what i can do to fix it? last time i took it to the apple store, they didn't do shit but tell me that i needed to restore it and i'd lose all my music. amazingly, a couple of weeks later, everything showed up again. point is, i really do not want to have to go through that being that my dumbass hasn't backed up all my music.

i don't get it. i spent too much damn $ on this thing for it to crap out on me again.

i'd suggest going to the local apple store and haranguing them into giving you a new one. exaggerate the shit out of your problem if you have to. they cave pretty quickly.

yeah i know, i should've learned my lesson from the first time it happened... since i use my work comp, i only keep certain things on here and end up deleting most after i upload the music. i guess for now, i'll just leave the pod alone and hope that everything will miraculously appear again.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Hey, I have the 60, and have had the same problem. Have you tried just restarting the iPod? I about shit when it first did it to me, but then I realized all you had to do was the iPod version of control-alt-delete. So, yeah---it sucks, but that gets it to work. Hopefully somebody else didn't already say this and I just can't read.

Hopefully that helps,
Shaun

I have the 60, too. Just reboot by holding down menu and the middle buttons simultaneously. I've had to do that about four times since I got my ipod 5 or 6 months ago. Restores the music everytime for me.

Oh yeah, hold those buttons down for 7 or 8 seconds until the apple icon appears. Sometimes it takes a couple tries, but it will reboot once you hit those buttons 'simultaneously', which is hard to do on the first try.

You guys are installing the latest Ipod Updaters, right? The newest one came out last week. It might just fix your problem. (Six months into my 40gb 4G, I still have yet to run into any problems. I do, however, routinely update and even completely wipe my Ipod clean. It is, afterall, a computer and it needs refreshing disk-wipes/reinstalls once in a while, too.)
