I'm not a huge fan of this type of music (hardcore, death metal, etc.) and the day was long, but I had a blast when this show came to Cleveland. My brother needed someone to go with him to the event, so I tagged along and brought plenty of earplugs*.

There were 21 bands and it lasted about 10 hours. At the end of the day, I can honestly say that I have a new appreciation for the bands that perform that type of music and especially enjoyed Strapping Young Lad (Devin Townsend), Opeth and Gwar! Actually, I own most of Devin Townsend's music and didn't even know he was part of the tour.

Anyway, just wanted to share a fun experience I had this week.

*I'd be deaf right now if I didn't wear them.

I like a little hardcore and not much death metal, but yeah seeing these types of bands live is pretty fun. Especially if it's friend's bands.

Devin Townsend is nuts. And I mean that in a good way - but also in the way that suggests he eats the erasers off of pencils.
