Has anyone seen them on their recent tour? I'm seeing them at the 9:30 club in DC tonight and I'm really hoping for a good show.

I'm also going Friday, then again next Thursday. They've supposedly sounded great so far. Definitely wear earplugs, you will regret it if you don't. They're only playing songs from the first three albums when Lou was in the band. Friday is definitely going to be in the top-10 days of my life. I've been waiting over 10 years for this tour.

I'm going in August, especially if they only play songs from the first three albums.

I just got back from the show, and I'm fucking deaf, but it was amazing.

For those of you who wonder about earplugs -- I took them with me, and had them in for the first five songs, but ended up taking them out. Although it is incredibly loud, earplugs actually take away the best part of the show. With them in, you can barely hear J's guitar (mostly all you'll hear is a muffled bass and drum mix), but once you take them out, you can hear his buzzsaw guitar tone flooding loudly over the rest of the music. It's up to you, of course, but if you wear earplugs the whole time I think you'll leave the show disappointed.

Dinosaur Jr. have been touring complete with the original lineup of J. Mascis, Emmett Jefferson Murphy III and Lou Barlow. The band recently announced plans to record and produce their first ever live DVD. They will film their upcoming two night performance at the Irving Plaza in New York City, currently scheduled for December 2nd and 3rd.

The DVD will be directed by Gold In Berlin, which is run by Mascis' own brother in-law, German filmmaker Phillip Virus. As well as the live performance, the producers promise "complete backstage footage, one-on-one interviews, behind the scenes goings-on." The DVD itself will also include a number of bonus features.

The band reunited with a first set of dates which took place in the UK this past June, followed by the recent US dates. The band has a handful of shows coming up in the next few months which are listed below.

11.29.05 Metro Chicago, IL
11.30.95 Metro Chicago, IL
12.02.05 Irving Plaza New York, NY
12.03.05 Irving Plaza New York, NY

They were filming at both shows I went to and there were rumors about a DVD on the Dino message board. I'm glad to hear those rumors are going to be true. I'll be buying this for sure.

Holy shit this thread is old. I was so scared when I read Blue Milks post because I thought he left me out of a good show going on tonight.

I got a set list from the one I went to, like Red. I loaded it to flickr I just don't feel like coming up with a link now.

Heh...yeah, sorry about that. Happens sometimes when you use the "search" feature to add to a thread instead of starting a new 'un.
