Listening to the new album [entitled Z, out in Sept.] first time round, and this track really stood out for me. Been listening to it over and over for 20 minutes now. I was never a fan of these guys, but i really dig this, and another track "Into The Woods" [sounds like something The Coral would write actually].

Anyways, here's "It Beats For You" for the MMJ fans....

Take into consideration I 've listened to it once. This is a different direction for them. It seems they are leaving their southern roots behind and focusing more on the effects. I would say that a lesser part of the original sound is being brought to the forefront.

sounds like the southern roots are later on the album [Lay Low & Knot Comes Close].

i'm feelin' this overall. very surprised because i didn't care for their last album at all.

I'm a fan, but it was always a disc that I had to be in the right mood. Chill out music to me. Amazing in concert.

I thought their last album had one standout track but the rest was pretty boring. The album before that was a good listen from start to finish. I dig the reverb vocals. I'm want to check out this track tonight if it's still up.

This is really pretty meh. It sounds kind of like a gussied up Drivin N Cryin/Kevn Kinney...I really hope this isn't what the whole album sounds like...

oldbulee -- I agree with the mood thing on the last album. It is a great tired/slow/drunk album. Fuckiong slays. Fall weather album as well.

Thanks, D.

I'm not real enamored with this band, but I could see them making some good albums down the road. I compare them to Kings of Leon from the standpoint they have parts of songs that I like, but it never really gels and grabs me.

My two main problems with this band tend to be the songs wander too long, plus the guy sounds like he's at the bottom of a well.

Apparently we're twins seperated at birth, but I fear that I'm Danny Devito to your Arnold. Thankfully I was spared the racist genes though.
