You are going to miss Riviera.

Was the $35 to enter your band or something?

I'm guessing this is a lament over subscription/delivery issues.
Heh.
Try getting paid after writing there for 2.5 years. Then we'll talk.

Are you referring to this and the possible impact it may have on your label? (taking a stab in the dark)

The Skinny On CMJ And Mediaguide
Jul 13, 2005

Guess what we did this weekend?

As was announced in a press release earlier this week, CMJ has entered into a partnership with Mediaguide, the first and only company to use digital fingerprinting technology to monitor airplay at both college and commercial radio. What this means in the immediate future is that two of our charts, the Core Radio chart and the Loud Rock Crucial Spins chart, will be replaced by the CMJ Radio Select chart and the CMJ Loud Rock Select chart respectively. These charts will be compiled from the airplay of radio stations that are both CMJ subscribers and Mediaguide-monitored. What is truly new and truly exciting about the Select charts is that they will be completely based on the hard currency of actual spins that a record receives. Nothing more, nothing less.

Think of these brand new charts as a window in CMJ New Music Report into Mediaguide's impressive technology, and an introduction to a way of increasing accountability and accuracy in radio reporting.

We realize there is some distrust or fear of monitoring in our community, and we would like to assuage fears of an Orwellian radio future. This ain't The Matrix, people. CMJ always has and always will stick up for independent music and independent stations that stick their necks out for new music. Mediaguide feels the same way, and with charts and reports dedicated to self-released and independent artists, they believe as CMJ does that new music deserves the best and widest coverage possible. If you want to see for yourself, no problem—all monitored stations can view exactly what Mediaguide is tracking on their station free of charge.

There will always be stations that are not monitored, and we will continue to count their contributions as equal and important. CMJ has built institutions such as the Radio 200 chart for over 25 years, and we have no plans to abandon our hard work. But we feel that by partnering with Mediaguide on the new Select charts and using their reporting systems, CMJ will be able to increase the relevance of an incredibly powerful and useful technology (the good folks at Mediaguide have built a wonderful system) and help to change the radio community in the best of ways.

There are many questions worth asking, and many still to be answered, and we hope to address them all as this partnership develops over the weeks and months and years to come. In the meantime, holla back.

Wow. Self described Ass Blaster located in a 'bum's asshole' now making gay referenced jokes...And you don't even appear to be a 14 year old boy, making all of your references even more immature.

something you hiding there? You can come out. We are a tolerant bunch.

And yes, it has to do with my band not be accepted to the CMJ fest.
