Dave Newfeld from Broken Social Scene was apparently beaten by a couple of undercover NYPD cops last week while he was being arrested. For some reason he apparently thought it was a good idea to score some weed in Washington Square Park (it ended up costing him two cracked ribs and a lot of bruises).

I'm HIGHLY suspicious of his claimed innocence in this. Sorry, but it just doesn't jibe that the guy who actually bought the marijuana gets off without even a charge but this guy, who claims he was simply along for the ride and did nothing, gets beaten and charged? I call BS.
