Man, I cannot get enough of "Last to Know" from your roots of alt.country mix
What else do you have by him/recommend?
Have you heard the tribute album?
If I can figger out clever cactus, can I get some of this action?

I have all but one of his albums...If you're asking for a starting point, Gravity's probably his best and its also the album that song is from. Get on clever cactus already and I'll hook you up.

I haven't heard Por Vida yet (the tribute album). I probably should pick it up just to support him but I'm not a big fan of tribute albums especially when the tribute is to an artist I like so much...the covers end up being letdowns by comparison.

I've got Por Vida and I swear it's the tribute album by which all other tribute albums should be measured. It took a while for me to really get into it, but it's high quality all the way around (well, to tell the truth, there's a couple of duff tracks - Lenny Kaye's contribution in particular).

The only bad thing about it is it's mastered too quiet, so I can't put any of the songs on a mix without a noticeable drop in volume. Bastids.

I haven't been around much recently, but let me just say that you should pick up anything with AE's name on it. If you do look for Gravity, get the version which includes a second live disc.

I started off with Thirteen Years, but anything will do. In the state I'm in now, I look for Bourbonitis Blues...which starts off with "I Was Drunk" followed by the Ian Hunter tune "Irene Wilde"

Oh, and don't forget these two he's on: Buick MacKane's "the Pawn Shop Years" and the True Believers, "Hard Road"

And I'll take this opportunity to hype his little brother's former band, The Dragons. Their "RLF" album is in my all-time top 10, & they've got 2 other near-classics in their catalog as well. Al co-wrote a song on "RLF", too. The brother ( Mario ) is working on his first solo record as we speak.

And of course, www.alejandrofund.com is still taking donations.
