I know about her photography but I don't know about her life. Is this going to be interesting?

Is she the only actress left in Hollywood? Just wondering cause it seems like she's the only one ever getting cast in anything these days and I just don't like her. She also looks a step away from being either invisible or a skeleton.

i'm not sure if there is really a movie to be derived from her life, but it could just be a sequence of her photographs and it would be interesting.

here's my favorite of hers:

Emperor Norton, is that you?

(And, no, not in the ironic [sic] way of naming your record-label after the self-declared monarch of a democracy [sic [sic]].)

she was born into an incredibly wealthy family and started doing fashion photography for her father's department store empire. then she studied with lisette model who inspired her to shoot what she wanted--what was personal to her--which led to people on the fringe of society. she won several prestigious awards and killed herself by od'ing on barbituates and slitting her wrists.

that's really all i know. i don't know if it will be interesting or not but i like a lot of her work. for what it's worth it's directed by the guy who did secretary.

mrs. neuro--sorry about that but have you had a chance to see modigliani? i looked it up and apparently it's playing at one theater in nyc and somewhere in florida (i think.) was this released and i missed it?

there is a HUGE Arbus show on at the Met now. Her daughter is a photographer. She dresses like a goth.

She has to be a bit older now, maybe middle-aged, which makes dressing like a goth lame... Erm, lamer than it is when you're seventeen and doing so.

the arbus show left the met in may and i'm sorry i missed it.

an aside: i can't wait to see the hockney portrait show in february.

While this is certainly another interesting character conversion for the former Mrs. Cruise, I would be even more intrigued to see KIDMAN AS AIRBUS! I mean, can you imagine her as an AIRPLANE?!? THAT would be Oscar-worthy.

No, but I can imagine her in Julie Hagerty's role in the Airplane remake (if there ever is one). Oh, what I would give to be the auto-pilot in that scene...

that would be totally awesome if thqat was Emperor Norton, and we were getting a movie about that crazy bastard. Sadly, the Airplane remake is FAR more likely.

I'm so with you one this. I getting really really tired of her. I especially get annoyed by the fact that she is presented as if she's the queen of hollywood, yet she often seems to play roles where she's a glamorous woman with a tiny, meek little voice and no backbone. Kinda weird to me.

re: the shoes... wow, I guess heels really do transform womens' legs. Her look---gasp!---normal in that picture.

It's Otto!

... And, would Yao Ming reprise the role of co-pilot that Kareem made famous?

i don't think he could get "you tell your old man to spend 48 minutes draggin' Walton up and down the court" with the hilarity that Lew got it down with. Also, he killed in Game of Death.

and regarding Kidman, I mean, what can you do? it's like every other aspect of hollywood, like 3 people are considered for everyrole. Anyone cast after that is just the studio settling for what they consider to be less.
