I'm calling a moratorium on the word underwhelmed. It now joins overrated and unfuckwithable on the overused-and-unwanted shelf. Sorry to all. You'll just have to find another way to convey your meh-titude.

A one-man moratorium. I'm underwhelmed.

Unmoved (by) as a substitute?

Dismayed (by)? Viewed askance (at) (for synaesthetic affect)?

I think we should all adopt a scale like I use, whereas anything failing to live up to expectations (or underwhelming) FUCKING SUCKS A BIG FAT ONE!!!

That would alleviate a lot of confusion. (And piss a lot of people off)

But, actually, wouldn't there exist occasion when 'fucking sucking a big fat one' would be gar (good) and not gar (bad)?

Huh? Huh??

Now I'm tired of being underwhelmed. Can I be malwhelmed, Rad? I'm waiting on you for the go.

Sure, what the hell. Put whatever prefix you'd like on there. Be malwhelmed. Heck, be pseudowhelmed, neowhelmed, or superwhelmed for all I care. Just know, however, that you can NO LONGER be underwhelmed.

Yes, I reserve the right to still be simply whelmed.

I also prefer to use 'nonplussed' anyway.

I hark for the days when I was 'only' underwhelmed.

I'm now mainly 'monumentally depressed' or 'absolutely reviled'.

I have every intention of making a list of such seemingly (but apparently un-) antonym-able words, because I think they're fascinating. I can't think of any at the moment. However, please note that 'gruntled' and 'whelmed' are in fact words. 'Ruth' from 'ruthless' is too, as I wondered. 'Plussed', however, to my 'nonplussed' isn't. So there we go. Commence listing please.

Like, for bad example, there is no 'dain' to our 'disdain'.
