... with your choice as this incomplete year's favourite album. My vinyl of the Caribou just arrived, but I've been loving that album forever.

Yeah, I can't stop playing it. I never really expected to like this much but it really has gotten my attention. Not like Blonde Redhead did last year, but close.

It's funny - my soon-to-be roommate loooooved "Up In Flames" and is unsure about this one (I don't really think they're all that different), and you're the complete opposite. One must fall!

I haven't heard Up In Flames but I will remedy that soon.

nah.

Both are pretty even, IMO. Although I kinda prefer the latter-period Boredoms feel that the Caribou album has.

It's good, but not my favorite of the year.

I've heard a couple tracks from this, but nothing really hit me on first listen. I'm still not sure I understand the sudden change of name without really making it well known. Up In Flames was never a favorite of mine so I doubt this one will do too much for me, but I still want to give it a shot.

i think the new Caribou tails off towards the end, that would be my only gripe with it though.

Actually, I disagree. The last few songs are some of the best on the album.

"Up in Flames" is taut and saccharine.
"The Milk of Human Kindness" is casual and patient.
They are both very colourful, but this to me is where they differ, and why I greatly prefer the latter.
