I've been home about 30 minutes now. Very travel weary. Spent the night at O'Hare. Canceled flight due to weather conditions. Had to fly home to a different airport. I'm hungry. I'm sunburnt. But, goddamn, what a great time!

Chicago clan, to those who came out -- you guys are aces, man! Thank you so much for coming out on Friday night!!

I'll post more later. I need some sleep.

Sorry for not coming out on Friday, Tania. I was waiting for the cable guy, who was supposed to come between 3 and 5 PM. He came at 9.

Were you in Chi the whole week? Sorry to hear about that travelling, I have yet to fly this year without having some major fuck up at the airport or with the flight. I feel that pain.

No worries, Mike. Catch ya next time I'm out there. :)

Same goes to Dave who I played text with all day Sunday. I seriously looked for you but had no luck finding you.

Thanks to Charli, Lock, Cybin, Gaping A, Z, Spade Kitty (and fiancee) and epa who all ventured out on Friday night to hang. I felt very welcomed and quite the special Obnerite! :)

Phil, sorry I didn't make it out to Estelle on Saturday night. I needed a serious shower after the day's events and found my mates in bed when I returned to my hotel room (buncha party poopers). I figured it was best to conserve my energy for Sunday -- thanks for inviting me out, though.

Oh gosh, I most definitely did! I even got to spend some "me time" on Monday when I walked down to the Art Institute of Chicago to see the Toulouse-Lautrec et Montmartre exhibit. After walking in the rain sans umbrella and listening to the thunder, I stood like a dampened soldier with other art aficionados to gain entry. Unfortunately, I only had time to see the exhibit, but did have time to buy one of the exhibit posters with a Pablo Picasso print depicting the Moulin Rouge.

I highly recommend any of you who live in the Chicago area to go see this exhibit. It's quite impressive. Not only does it have Msr. Toulouse-Lautrec's work, but quite a few paintings by Van Gogh and Picasso who were all part of the Montmartre scene back then. Tuesdays are free if that encourages anyone!

Welcome back...
The weather here is getting shitty...

Still, it's So. Cal., so not all that much else to complain about...

My friends have often teased that I can find or be found by someone who knows me in almost every city I travel to (so not true). Well, Chicago turned out to be no exception. As I was watching Kasabian, I felt a tap on the shoulder. A very tall guy was standing behind me and says "I know you". Thinking he was an Obnerite, I smiled and asked, "Oh yeah?" (I'm quite the conversationalist, can you tell?) Guy goes on to say that he knows me from The Troubadour. "I see you all the time -- you're always in front." Anyway, we proceeded to have a "no way, you're from LA too?" convo and compared weekend notes.

Anyway, I thought it was rather cool to meet someone from my hometown and thought I'd share. :)
