America is to get its own version of the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL later this year.

However differing from the rock orientated British event, Download USA is more indie-friendly with The Killers set to headline the first bash.

Modest Mouse, The Arcade Fire, Doves and HIM are all scheduled to play at the event which take place on October 8 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, Billboard reports.

Tickets for the event go on sale on July 31, with more names expected to be announced soon. For more information go to shorelineamp.com

finally, California gets a festival!

well, i guess this is the one instance where the location isn't as important. i'd like to see how this rounds out...
