Take a look at today's postings and realize you're nothing but an itinerant complainer and a fetishist for the "good ol' days".

We've had Corey's new purchases, Tania's local love recommendations, debates on best bands ever, most annoying songs and the validity of Meg White's vocal cords.
Also, discussions on Longwave, Most Serene Republic, John Prine, George Strait, Wilco, Death Angel and more.
Add in a host of mix threads and you've got a music geek utopia.

The mix of threads might vary from day to day, but by and large the quality of music discussion here is fantastic and it's why we keep coming back.

You all rock. Pleasure to be part of the cult of Ob.

Today has been a good day. I've certainly posted a lot more than I had been lately. Good day for discussion, another disappointing Tuesday for new releases.

In my opinion, there's more whining about people whining about no music threads than there is whining about no music threads.

That's probably true. OPA! has been missing in action of late.

I do agree that there are great music threads today, but I think it might partially be a reaction to last week's blowup over no music threads. Not a bad thing, though. Personally, I have tried to post more music-related stuff myself since that whole ordeal.

I'm always on the road and out of the office (and therefore not on the board all day) on Tuesdays so the content has to improve.

But fear not, I'm in the office all day tmrw.

Let's just hope it doesn't escalate -- it could get out of control.

in my opinion, there's less whiners about non-music related threads than there are non-whiners about music related whining. it's obvious the whining about music had led non-whiners to whine a bit more about music when it appears in non-whining form.

Response #1 - :splode:

Response #2 - What about dining?

Response #3 - Dude, it's not an opinion, it's a statistically provable fact. I don't have the gumption right now to go figure it out, but as to whether there's more whining about whiney music, or non-whining about non-music, it's just a number.

All's I'm saying is that this place ain't so bad and is in fact pretty goddamn awesome the bulk of the time.
'Course, there's always LooGAR and the ATL posse who storm in to trash the place on a regular basis, but even they have a rogueish charm about them and are willing to lend a hammer so as to join in on the mayhem.

They're populist heathens, and I dig that. Another facet that makes this place so special.

(Man, I think PopTodd slipped me some of the happy brain drugs he's been takin' post-op. Whatever. 'Sall good).

Remember: he's intimately involved in the re-launch of CMJ Board v.2.0. Which, of course, will blow our little board that could's collective mind.

You heard it here first.

Plus he said he's dating a nice chicky now, too, so that's gonna cut into his time.

actually, i heard it from Whiney first. i also heard that we should expect the board up and running about the same time as CMJ's special Christmas holiday issue. In other words March of 06

No board, no matter how good, needs 14 months to launch. That's just silly. It's a frickin' message board, not Mount Rushmore.
