Ballsy. I commend your effort, seeing as you've some true winners on an ecclectic list, but this one just fucks me off. Watcher in the Woods I could understand, but Fan-fucking-tasia? This is my Ishtar.

Number 22 is redeeming, though. Warms the cockles.

I'll try to post something soon - I'll start with 50.

Yikes, I've never known Fantasia to elicit such a negative response.

I think Fantasia qualifies as one of the greatest for a number of reasons, subjective and objective.

This was a groundbreaking film. Disney pretty much invents MTV in the 1940's. He took a bunch of risks in making this picture, and with the exception of the ballet-ing elephants, the film delivers. The penultimate scene, "A Night On Bald Mountain" is pretty hard-core for a Disney flick, the images are downright terrifying, and suit the music to a tee. Mickey as the Sorcerer's Apprentice is a classic, and gives the film its continuity with the studio's child-oriented animation bent.

I saw this bad boy as a little kid on the big screen at Radio City Music Hall, and then a few more times at various "art" theatres throughout the years. It remains one of my faves.

Dammit, Steve. You pretty much made my list. I'm going to take yours and just replace those Lord Of The Rings movies with some TBS Classics.

Steve, with all of the Frankenheimer/Kubrick/Comspiracy classics, you pretty much nailed my tastes. Of Course you left out Gymkata ;)

Funny, because I thought "Wow, number 11," maybe I should re-evaluate that on its merits as a movie alone. I didn't hate it, I just LOVE the book.

I hope we get some more people that will contribute.

Other than the people who have already committed, I'd love to see lists from(off the top of my head)-PopTodd, OPA, Chase, FT, Sketch, Cotton, Shiv, Shmoo and others from the Southern crew.

Hell yes.

Neither of you gave the Wizard of Oz any love?

I saw Fandango once many years ago and enjoyed it, but my memory of it is too faint for it to have made my list.

Wizard of Oz would have popped up soon had I continued.

i havent seen enough movies to really put an informed list of my 100 top movies, but i can say that if anyone doesnt have the manchurian candidate (the original) on their list because they havent seen it, they need to remedy this stat. bloody incredible movie.
