I would like to safely assume this documentary has been mentioned either here or back on CMJ before, but I figured I'd see who's seen this. I took it out of my local library because of my desire to dip into the Motown sound. Wow! This was excellent! I liked how they told a great story, a brief history of the label, and had those excellent live performances thrown throughout the
movie with past and current artists. (Chaka Khan and Montell Jordan, amongst others) Amazing stuff!

Keep an eye out, because a few of them tour from time to time and put on sort of an interactive-type show from what I hear. Talking about the songs and process between songs.

I missed them last time, but they are around.

They travel under the name "Funk Brothers"? That would be a hell of a time!
