AC Newman (whatever that one from last year is called)
Allison Krause and Union Station Live -- Busty sent this to me, but I never botehred to listen to it
Animal Collective -- I mean, I just don't need any damn poopoo bear albums
Armor for Sleep -- My Brother sent this to me, and I never listened to it
Ass Ponys -- Sorry Bob, never grabbed me
The Beatles -- Let it Be, Naked....meh...I left Anthology discs 2 and 3 on for some unknown reason
The Bees -- Free the Bees -- I listened to this once and liked it...never bothered to put it on again.
The Blind Boys of Alabama -- Higher Ground -- I like this, but really, I never listen to it.
Bloc Party EP -- AKA OPEN GARBAGE

I am Leaving on approximately 16 Bob Dylan albums I never listen to just because I cannot bring myself to jettison Bob Dylan

Brian Eno -- another green world and before and after science -- SERIOUSLY WHAT ABOUT THIS IS LISTENABLE, LET ALONE GOOD!!???
Brian Wilson -- Smile -- I couldn't even get through this...not sure why, but it's a bit too much for me these days.
Bubba Sparxxx -- Deliverance -- i knew this dude when he used to be called L'il Devil, but the Timbo production is too much. Meh.
Caesars -- 39 Minutes of Bliss -- harry monster gave this to me, and I liked it when we listened to it, but really....
Castanets -- Cathedral -- Benny gave this to me, but i couldn't get into it
David Byrne -- Feeling and Uh Oh -- couldn't really find the time when listening to this seemed like a good idea.
The Decembrists -- Picaresque -- all this ever does is annoy me

I am keeping this godforsaken Dennis Wilson album because it is too mongerous to not have.

Depeche Mode -- Songs of Faith and Devotion and Violator -- I guess this is where I admit that i pretty much hate English music from the 80s
Devendra Banhart -- Rejoicing in the Hands -- I hate smelly hippies
Eminem -- The Slim Shady LP - as much as I like this guy's radio songs, he just doesn't do it for me. STOP SINGING YOUR FUCKING HOOKS.

I am keeping the Entire Faces Box Set on this damn thing, just because it makes teh chances of something coming up on random that much better

Faith No More -- Angel Dust -- sorry Yail, there may have been a time and place that I could have liked this, but the early 90s are over and eating acid in someone's garage was never that fun anyway
Fiona Apple -- When the Pawn -- again, could never come up with a time when listening to this seemed like a good idea.
Firewater -- Songs we should havce written -- Discostu gave this to me, back when he like music. It is good, but I never put it on or anything -- edit - this is getting one more chance, cos I am a suckker for shitty covers
The Futureheads --I guess this is where I confess to hating bands that ape 80s english rock. "Angular" my ass.

I am keeping waaaaaay too many GBV albums, even though I have the greatest hits, because again, they are good on random

I am keeping Iron and Wine, though I have NO IDEA why..maybe I will need to be lulled to sleep by the cooing of a bearded mountain man sometime in the near future?

I will keep 1000 Johnny Cash albums, though I rarely listen to them, because The Man in Black, along with Bob Dylan, will someday be recognized as prophets of Biblical Proportions.

Joy Division -- Closer and Unknown Pleasures -- DO PEOPLE REALLY LIKE THIS?

Like 5 Kinks albums that aren't Muswell Hillbillies. -- If I need to hear about the Village Green, I will have brunch at Uncle Brian's.

Les Savy Fav -- Another in a long line of bands I may be supposed to like, but damn if I can listen to it

Lift to Experience -- The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads -- but only cos mine's from Audiogalaxy and most of the tracks are shittily reproduced, I'd be interested in hearing the real version of this.

Morrissey-- Viva Hate -- I reserve the right to randomly/drunkenly throw out the Bona Drag/Viva Hate bit from Heartbreaker, but I cannot actually listen to Morrissey. Again, 80s english rock? (I am also pretty sure you can catch The Gay by listening to this,a nd have no real desire to prove or disprove this theory)

Pavement -- S&E and CRCR...despite the attempts of Yail, and their massive cred in certain circles, this just doesn't appeal to me.

I am keeping 3 albums by Robyn Hitchcock, though I have no idea why, but possibly because he covers "Trying to Get to Heaven" on Spooked, and also possibly because there are 7 minutes of enjoybale music on Underwater Moonlight

I have more Ryan Adams albums than is healthy, never really listen to them but feel compelled to keep them. I think I want to like his music more than it is actually good or enjoyable.

Skip Spence -- Oar -- I d/l/d this from Audiogalaxy, back when me and Derris would try to find the most garmonger albums ever. Well, I won, but that doesn't mean this is good.

The Smiths -- Singles -- Unlistenable

I am keeping the 32,453 Spoon Tracks that FT sent me for 2 reasons. 1) Many of them are enjoyable and I like them more when on random 2) I swear when Britt and them are on, they are fucking ON and I want this shit to click again like the first time I put on Girls Can Tell.

The Streets -- This shit is just too bad for words. I tried, I really did (which is rare for me) but t hat sing song shit is so fucking bad/laughable/gar that i cannot bring myself to keep this stuff.

Sufjan -- 7 Swans -- I will keep the entire Michigan album because the first song is unbelievable awesome, but if this dude went away, I would be all too happy.

I am keeping the story of THEM just so me and Busty can laugh about this later. THEY ARE CALLED "THEM" MIKE!!!!

I am keeping this Wedding Present album, because Billzebub knows his shit, and I think it may secretly be good, based mainly on my like for the first track (which may or may not be because it contains the word 'daft') even though it is 80s English Rock.

Wire -- Pink Flag -- just couldn't stand the site of this offal anymore.

Wolf Eyes -- Burned Mind -- I will need to reacquire this whenever I shoot a low budget horror film

That's it -- If you made it through this, you probably hate me, and think I am stupid. I welcome your thoughts.

The only ones I have a problem with are Sufjan and Devandra. I'd say you should keep Joy Div-Closer, but I could see why you have disdain for it. Oh, and I totally agree w/ you on 'The Streets'.

Devendra Banhart and Animal Collective are two musts when you're on random play.

1. You should've kept at least one or two songs from Angel Dust... Midlife Crisis still puts my ass in a headlock whenever I chance to run upon it.
2. Everyone knows you can only catch the Ghey if a guy in capris sneezes on you at the Gap.

i agree with much of this. there's tons of shit i've had on mine forever that i never listen to, but mostly because the random is SO shitty and just wants to feed me the second black crowes album and all things heiro. i just realized YESTERDAY that i have a live EITS show i put on there in october that i haven't listened to once.

I'm at the point now where I have to delete an album on my ipod everytime I buy a new album. Some of my recent deletes were:

AC Newman-Slow Wonder: boring
Thievery Corp-Babylon: can't touch mirror conspiracy
The Album Leaf-In a Safe Place: sucks save 2 or 3 songs
Joy Division-Unknown Pleasures: have closer, thats all I need
Beth Orton - Trailer Park, Central Reservation, Daybreaker: I like, but never listen to.
Zero 7-When it falls: zero excitement+zero listens=zero ipod
The Veils - Runaway Found: whiny biotch (I like More heat, More Light and vicious traditions)
Ryan Adams - Love Is Hell Pts 1&2: Not much going on here
DCFC - Transaltanticism: Boring
Dizzee Rascal - Showtime: F'ing horrible

edit: I saved a couple songs on my ipod from most of these.

More people should make this type of thread. Very entertaining and also a peek inside the brain of a monster.

You know, it's funny, cause I thought I was the only one who hated this album. It wasn't very memorable.

These are ones I would have kept, but i pretty much agree with everything else. I too hate smelly hippies. Hygenic hippies are another thing entirely.

My iPod is always hovering around 'nearly full'. Since I've been out of work I haven't been steaming through it all as quickly.

Deleting the Smiths from my iPod would kill me. Although solo Morrissey has never thrilled me as much, I can get by with Bona Drag and Your Arsenal. I can't argue with anyone's hatred of The Streets, it's pretty hit or miss. I think it hits. Same with Pavement, I could never delete those first two albums. Joy Division is mood dependent, I could never just throw it on willy nilly. Eminem could be deleted from the akashic record and it would suit me just fine.

Also, you and I both OWN a copy of Jamming, Derris, whereas OAR was found on audiogalaxy.

Looks like I'll be in the phily airport sometiime on Labor Day weekend. I think a drive by egging would awesome...especially if I duck/move out of the way and a downtrodden minority gets the brunt of it.

Althoug i need the room, i can't seem to delete any either. There are just times when i want to hear a specific Dylan song no matter what.
