So I guess RJ is doing most of Aceyalone's new album and they're touring together as well. Does anyone care?

I might go to the show just to check out RJD2, but Acey has never really impressed me all that much.

RJD2 blew Diplo off the fucking stage when I saw him. It may have even been better than the time I saw DJ Shadow.

It probably would've been even better if the time I saw him didn't happen to be the same night of one of those Sox/Yankees playoff games in 2004. It was hard trying to pay attention to both the tv at the bar and RJD2. Made for some excellent backing music though.

Why do you think so? I saw that same tour and I think RJ was boring a lot of the time. A lot of his stuff he was playing was straight off Deadringer. I don't know much about the whole DJ thing, but shit, I can pop in my cd if I wanted to hear that. I'm not saying Diplo is the best thing to come out or anything, though I'm looking for fun when I catch a DJ.

I mean Diplo played a few songs from his album but a lot of the stuff he was playing were mashups and they were kind of sloppy too. RJD2's set just seemed more cohesive.

I've heard the promo for Beautiful City and Acey has finally re-captured what he had in F.F. I'm not the biggest fan of D2, but the beats are on time here.

I was thinking this too.

This type of discussion is what let's me conclude, quite easily and correctly, that none of you know fuck all about rap.

so, we need to grow INTO rapping about guns and bitches?

I think "not knowing anything about rap" would be to assume that all of it is about those topics. I don't think there's a one of us who wasn't introduced to rap through acts that talk about that shit constantly.

RjD2 is a pretty solid producer from the little that i've heard.

and on the subject of bitches and ho's. i wish that wasn't what the rappers that i like talked about. but i also don't need them talking about the betterment of the black man, or rising to a higher spirituality.

i wish they talked about nothing and everything. and that's why i love ghostface.

it just so happens that i like the way bitches and ho type rappers rap.
i like that kind of flow and cadence.

here's a song:
All For U - Aceyalone & RJD2

of the three tracks I've heard so far, this one is by far the best.
