I loved Bazooka Tooth and have no reason to not look forward to this.

i thought that bazooka tooth was mediocre, maybe slightly better than that. one of those things where all the pieces were there but nothing came together for me. thusly, i have reservations about expectations for this.

well, if anyone wants this EP, i've been sharing it on soulseek for about 2 weeks. I like it.

pm me your slsk name so i can probe your files with my meat thermometer. oh, and this record is actually surprisingly good. the beats are faster than usual, which i'm enjoying.

I have always found the beats to be seriously lacking with aesop rock. On labor days, the beats were okay, but at least they didn't get in the way of aesop's vocals. On float, the beats were too simple, and well, weak. On bazooka tooth, the beats were all over the place, and muddied up the vocals. On this ep the beats are a little better, but they still leave something to be desired.

I think the best beat he has ever rapped over is on the new prefuse album. I want to start lobbying for the two of them to make a whole album together.

listening to this this morning thinking about the live show, and it's growing on me. i think that his style lends itself to the EP format much better than to the album.
