Postcard Recordings of Scotland
Part III - 'Last of the Punk Independents'

During 1992 Postcard supremo Alan Horne reactivated the long dormant label to issue previously unreleased Orange Juice material. However this was no dewy eyed nostalga trip. For the next 5 years the label also issued new music by such venerable artists as The Nectarine No.9 (Davy Henderson of The Fire Engines) , Paul Quinn and his all star Independent Group (featuring members of The Commotions, Bluebells, Orange Juice and Trashcan Sinatras), punk legend Vic Godard (of the Subway Sect) and Jock Scot (the William McGonnagle of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll), before disappearing once again into the magical mists of West Princes Street of Dreams.

Let the Old Guard of indie show you how it's done...

1. the nectarine no.9 TRACE NINE (1:41) from album 'sea with three stars' Dubh931
2. vic godard JOHNNY THUNDERS (3:33) from album 'end of the surrey people' Dubh936
3. orange juice BLUE BOY (2:53) from single 'blue boy/lovesick' Dubh934
4. jock scot TAPE YOUR HEAD ON (4:22) from album 'my own personal culloden' Dubh972
5. paul quinn & the nectarine no.9 TIGER TIGER (5:31) from ep 'pregnant with possibilities' Dubh952
6. jock scot THERE'S A HOLE IN DADDY'S ARM (WHERE ALL THE MONEY GOES) (4:56) from album 'my own personal culloden' Dubh972
7. vic godard WON'T TURN BACK (4:03) from single 'won't turn back' Dubh937
8. orange juice SIMPLY THRILLED HONEY (2:44) from album 'the heather's on fire' Dubh932
9. the nectarine no.9 POP'S LOVE THING (3:31) from ep 'unloaded for you' Dubh939
10. paul quinn & the independent group WILL I EVER BE INSIDE OF YOU? (9:07) from album 'will i ever be inside of you?' Dubh945
11. the nectarine no.9 FIRE CRACKERS (3:09) from album 'saint jack' Dubh951
12. jock scot JUST ANOTHER FUCKED UP LITTLE DRUGGY ON THE SCENE (2:16) from ep 'pregnant with possibilities Dubh952
13. paul quinn & the independent group OUTRE (6:29) from album 'will i ever be inside of you Dubh945
14. vic godard NULIFY MY REPUTATION (I'M GONNA) (4:40) from album 'last of the surrey people' Dubh936
15. the nectarine no.9 MY TRAPPED LIGHTNING (4:21) from album 'saint jack' Dubh951
16. orange juice FALLING AND LAUGHING (3:23) from album 'ostrich churchyard' Dubh954

Color me intrigued.

PM upcoming.

I picked up Two Gallants and M.Craft after hearing you praise them. I liked em. I shall give this a shot.

I need to see why you've got a massive hard on for Orange Juice.

Having a few technical problems and not much time today to fix them.

See here: http://www.obner.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=29740

I'll definately have this uploaded by Monday though and maybe even tomorrow.
