I made of this mix for elephantstone on the weekend and thought I'd post it here as well. This is, in my mind, a fairly good overview of their best known songs. Basically if you don't like the songs on this mix, you just do not like the band. Fans might quibble at my song selection, and yeah, I left a few choice cuts off (e.g. At the 100th Meridian), but you gotta stop somewhere.

Yeah, I guess that'll do.

Their two disc best of released last year is pretty good too.

Yeah, the fans picked that, so I pretty much distilled that down to this one as a representative intro.

Thanks!

I actually found a copy of Fully Completely for $3 and have spun it a little.

I would have brought hellfire had 'Gift Shop' not been on there. Good work.

I can't imagine what it would be like hearing all those songs in one place together for the first time. I grew up with these songs ingrained in me. You can't not know any of them. So I just can't picture it.

Damn but "Locked in the Trunk of a Car" just always hits me right between the eyes. Pure momentum and build up - by the time Downie is yelling "let me out!" I'm getting ready to hit the repeat button. Every single time.

Easily one of my favourites off Fully Completely. They don't get much better than this song.

"It would be better for us if you don't understand..."
