actual tape i made (it's been years since i've done that) for my female laura. side a is the more fun/silly side and side b is the more serious or quieter/sad side. she is driving home from here to southern california in a week and we'll be apart all summer. anyway, some of the songs are like memories, some are how i've always envisioned her taste (i have no idea what it is still!), and some that have messages or just sound like they fit. the idea and theme for me came about two months ago and was centered around "cool waves" by spiritualized (it's the final song). not a whole lot of "what is this?!" stuff on here, but it flows pretty excellent. enjoy.

for the last 3 years he's been recording 1 song a day as he tours around the country. some are awful, some are great like the one i included. live he doesn't sound like devendra banhart, but recorded he does. i'm actually on background vocals with a couple friends on whatever horrible song he recorded in Arcata in February.
