Well hey it's not often they get pimped on obner by somebody else but me.

This is one of their best songs, lyrically.

Just a fun little fact, Mike Roe got $10,000 from 311 because they ripped the phrase "and if a person place or thing can deliver, I will quiver with delight" from this song.

Yeah, good tune.

fr ob reference et al and whatnot:

Daniel Amos is a band, as in "what were those old testament prophet books...I can never remember them...Joel...Hosea...something...you know between Daniel and Amos?"

Tarkio was Colin Meloy's band before Decemberists

Shelleyan Orphan was Caroline Crawley's late 80's group.

The Eddy Grant track I once had on a mixtape I accidently left on the boardwalk in Quebec City. So, if you're the homeless dude who snatched it up when I was snapping photos, I hope you enjoyed it.

I actually had no idea that's how they got that name. I guess I never gave it a great deal of thought.

Motorcycle will likely always be my favorite of theirs. I only recently started seriously listening to some of their older older records like Horrendous Disc and Shotgun Angel.

Daniel Amos was a name that was chosen out of the Bible, the Old Testament. It's the prophets, Daniel and Amos. We were a country band at the time. We thought it would be a little different to put a couple of names together that sounded like an old country gentleman sitting out on the fence, strumming his guitar. Of course, it has caused some problems: 'Who's Daniel and who's Amos?' There's no Daniel Amos in the band

Ironic you included a Shelleyan Orphan song as I saw their cd used this past weekend, and thought to myself "wow, it's been a long time since I've heard them."

Crawley has one of the coolest voices a chamberpop wimp could ever have, though Jemaur Tayle sometimes sounds like an anime version of a zit-infested 14 year old.

I knew that before I even looked here to see if there was info about that in the thread. You can tell that voice anywhere. Great little tune.
