Later half of the 80s into the early 90s was a great time for industrial music, and one of the biggest, baddest labels in the land was Wax Trax. Sure other labels put stuff out, and they were missing some important bands like Front 242 and others, but they were the undisputed kingpins of the scene. Here's a collection of their biggest "hits" from the era. Go take a shitload of drugs and dance around in leather while listening...nudity works too...whips and chains optional...

Beers, Steers And Queers - Revolting Cocks
Godlike - KMFDM
Addiction - Sister Machine Gun
Shit For Brains - Pig
Do You Fear For Your Child - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
Every Day Is Halloween - Ministry
Geburt Einer Nation - Laiback
No Devotion - Revolting Cocks
God OD - Meat Beat Manifesto
Virus - KMFDM
Cuz Its Hot - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
No Name, No Slogan - Acid Horse
Rigor Mortis - A Split Second

Cuz I like old Nettwerk, too.

Can't remember what label Front 242 were on.

Hey, you got any Moev? My old cassette mix is worn out thoroughly.

No...no Moev, sorry. And, yeah, there were a bunch of great bands on other labels. I was partial to the Wax Trax stuff, probably being close by didn't hurt. Also, the Wax Trax stuff was all I have on CD, easier to make a mix. Any other industrial I have is on vinyl, and I had a bunch of recorded mix tapes and stuff that are long gone.

I did like Nitzer Ebb and Foetus quite a lot too. Throbbing Gristle as well. Neubauten I liked too, but really them and Gristle and even Foetus I never really heard so much as the others as I always heard most of this stuff at clubs and such, where things were more dance music oriented.

Just realized, Front 242 was on Wax Trax, I just don't have any on CD. I shouldda burned the 12 inch of Headhunter/Welcome to Paradise on there, but I was too lazy.

Front 242 came through the Play It Again Sam label deal that was set up with Wax Trax!, I think. Then once Wax Trax! went under the first time PIAS worked out a deal with Epic. I think TVT then handled Wax Trax! in some sort of attempted relaunch.

This stuff takes me back to my teen angst period. I always loved the KMFDM artwork. Its a shame they turned into a parody of themselves after En Esch left.
