Sounders and Chicago Fire winger Freddie Ljungberg has made a return to British football by
signing for Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic.
The 33-year-old Swedish international, part of Arsenal's famous "Invincibles" team that won the
2004 Premier League title without losing a game, had been training with Celtic all week, and was
in the crowd to watch his new employers beat Motherwell 1-0 and go top of the Scottish Premier
League.
"Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of Freddie Ljungberg," read a club statement
released Thursday evening.
The Swede, who was capped 75 times by his country, moved to the U.S. to play in Major League
Soccer after leaving English Premier League club West Ham United by mutual consent.

He made 52 league appearances whilst in the U.S., scoring four times, before leaving at the end
of the 2010 season.
The signing couldn't come too soon for the 42-times Scottish champions.
